In contrast to the sharp angle of the site, the house features rounded overhangs and planters to soften the architecture. The swimming pool is wrapped towards the back of the house, allowing privacy and creating a view of un-ending water. The house utilises plants to generate views for each room while providing shade and seclusion for the interior spaces.
Drawing inspiration from how shophouses use a courtyard for inward looking views, this house takes the idea of the courtyard and fragments it. Each room is then oriented to have its own private vista, constructing the impression that each space is its own pavilion nestled in nature. Vertical fins are added to the West- facing façade to further shield the interior from the tropical sun.
